You can hike to this lovely restaurant from Brunate or Torno We took the funicular from Como, up to Brunate and then hiked and found this restaurant when we arrived in Montepiatto. It was about 2:30pm and we actually rejoiced when we discovered this lovely restaurant was still open. They closed at 3pm. We had some delicious traditional dishes along with a beer and glass of wine. We continued our hike down to Torno, where we took the ferry back.

Pranzo di fortuna! Non avevamo prenotato, ma avendo sbagliato strada, non riuscivamo più ad arrivare in tempo all'altro Crotto. Abbiamo chiesto e pur essendo al completo, molto gentilmente si son dati da fare per farci mangiare in più di 10 persone. E ci sono riusciti benissimo! Ottimi i Pizzoccheri e la Polenta, molto buoni anche gli altri piatti di carne, buon vino, piacevolissimi i dolci. Bello il locale, semplice ma caratteristico, in giardino si è stati benissimo, servizio cordiale e ben fatto. Sì, forse, come ho visto da altre recensioni, porzioni e prezzi sono aspetti un po' negativi, ma dobbiamo anche contare che lì non ci si arriva semplicemente e i costi di gestione, per rifornimenti e manutenzione, sono alti. Comunque ci siamo trovati molto molto bene, da tenere in considerazione per altre escursioni nella zona.

Good cuisine in a beautiful location The village of Montepiatto is very pleasant, as is the crotto. We were lucky enough to eat outside and it was really good. The restaurant is rather spartan, with disposable crockery and large tables with benches. The kitchen is very good. We had pizzoccheri (excellent), low-temperature cooked ribs with potatoes (fantastic), a stew with polenta (good) and a cake (good). The service is thoughtful and friendly, if not particularly professional. The only note to the crotto is that, given the type of place, maybe a couple of euros less per dish could also fit. In any case, a good experience and a restaurant to be certainly recommended

Lunch After a walk we find ourselves in this village and we stop at the crotto, unfortunately as we did not book, there was no room but they gave us the opportunity to take away and so it was. Near the crotto there is a small park with tables where you can sit. Good food

GIVE DINO A CROTTINO The splendid treks on Lake Como can always and only end in one way: by eating. And if Crotto Montepiatto welcomes you, everything becomes even better. 🏠 LOCAL | A small mountain refuge with attention to the smallest details that recalls a Wes Anderson-style venue. Very nice outside and cozy inside too 🚶‍♂ STAFF | all very professional young guys and always ready to give advice on what to order 👨‍🍳 COOKING | typical Lombard cuisine characterized by traditional dishes: cold cuts, braised meat, polenta, etc. All delicious, the only "neo" is perhaps the quantities: I would have expected something more for what you pay 💶 BILL | the prices are in the photo, relatively higher than the average but it is still an "exclusive" place considering the position. Nonetheless, I would recommend it

An oasis of peace. Genuine place, animated by a brigade of young people, which offers a very pleasant stop for those who like to go for walks away from overcrowding. excellent pinzocheri and tagliatelle. highly recommended

An example Very pleasant location that rewards those who want to reach it. Great food, quality service. Sincerity and desire to do. Many more top rated restaurants should learn from these guys. Prices: 2 first courses, 1 second course, 2 waters, 2 coffees = 43.00 euros. I would like to point out that the cover charge is not paid unlike many other sites that ask for a 3 euro protection fee

Walk with lunch We took a not too demanding walk from the parking lot of the Brunate sports field to the crotto Monte Piatto, 1 hour and 15 minutes practically all on the flat. Upon our arrival we had lunch with Diego and Sara, friendly nice and very good in the kitchen, excellent dishes at more than fair prices considering the place where you eat. We recommend the Crotto Monte Piatto to those who want to take a non-binding excursion and eat really well.

What a discovery A very steep climb is rewarded with an honest kitchen. Typical local dishes in a homely environment. A hidden gem.

Torno - Monte Piatto... a "pleasant" walk On a trip to Torno we thought it best to have lunch at the Crotto di Monte Piatto ... the climb up to Monte Piatto is anything but a simple walk. It must have been the heat, it must have been the fact that from a certain point on there is not a meter that one in the plain the fact is that the path climbs inexorably upwards in an infinite sequence of hairpin bends! In the end, the trek was rewarded with an excellent lunch at the Crotto, we ate very well in the courtyard of the crotto, in the open air. The Crotto itself is small as a structure, externally it is very characteristic with its green shutters, inside it is more modern. Recommended dishes: appetizer and pizzoccheri.
