Along the way you cross the "Porta Travaina", a stone arch, traces of the ancient medieval walls of Torno probably dating back to Roman times. Legend has it that a toll is paid by placing a stone in the holes located on the side pillars.

Entering a luxuriant valley of vegetation, you cross a stone bridge that goes beyond a torrential cavity. Near the chapel, turning left it is possible to extend the excursion by about 20', to discover the uniqueness of the "massi avelli", basins dug into erratic boulders interpreted by scholars as sepulchres dating back to the 5th-6th century AD, intended for personalities nobles of the Lombard populations.

The tomb of the "squares" is the most spectacular and imposing, built on top of a large erratic boulder with a wooden staircase. Its peculiarity is given by the presence of a "stone cushion".

Continuing along the thick wood you rejoin the mule track for Piazzaga. The climb puts the less trained to the test, but in less than half an hour this pretty hamlet of well-renovated houses will welcome you. The carriageable mule track leads on level ground up to MP, frequented by vacationers in the summer and by only 3 families in the winter. The church of S. Elisabetta, an ancient convent of nuns, dominates the summit of the mountain with a breathtaking panorama that looks over the lake and the mountains that surround it.

A trail will lead to the foot of the “Pietra Pendula”, an erratic boulder of glands with the characteristic shape of a mushroom that reached here about 50-60,000 years ago thanks to massive glacial movements from Val Masino. From MP The signs lead towards Torno along the panoramic mule track.
