The itinerary starts from Brunate, reachable by car, bus and funicular from Como. Near the station in Brunate, continue on the paved road towards S. Maurizio up to the historic advertising fountain "Campari" proceeding along Via Nidrino.

The descent leads to the soccer field to take the path characterized by chestnut woods indicated by the "STRADA REGIA" trail sign. Along the itinerary the first 20′ require attention for not very wide stretches.

At the votive chapel continue towards MP

The path now easier, leads to a detour, cross the wooden bridge for MP After about 1 hour you can see the first houses of the Monti di Sorto village. A little further on from the Madonna del Rosario chapel it is possible to lengthen the excursion by about 20' to discover the "Nairola stone", an imposing erratic boulder declared a natural monument.

Returning from the path as soon as the trail indicates MP During the journey, the gigantic mass of the "wolf stone" cannot go unnoticed, an erratic boulder wrapped in legend which tells of the lair of a wolf that ate "bad" children.

A little further on, a small group of houses welcomes the Monti di Cazzanore. Take the path indicated on the right signposted MP The shady wood will lead to the first house of MP

Attention to MP, a charming hamlet immersed in an oasis of peace, is directed to the church of S. Elisabetta, an ancient convent of nuns which dominates the peak of the mountain with a breathtaking view over the lake and the surrounding mountains and to the “Pietra Pendula”, an erratic boulder of gland with the characteristic shape of a mushroom that arrived here about 50-60,000 years ago thanks to massive glacial movements from Val Masino.

Returning towards the Brunate crossroads, the descent can continue towards Torno crossing the Vall di Cornu along the stepped path. Ferries and buses facilitate the return towards Como.
